This project was to replace the major office air-handling systems, improve the pumping efficiency, and to provide a design where coil and pipe freezing could be avoided. A major factor was that portions of the building needed cooling every day on a year-round basis. |
This project included the exhibit pools as well as the 3,200 sq. ft. life support building which houses the exhibit pool's filtration systems. Each pool has it's own filtration system consisting of main recirculation pumps, sand filters, and ozone bacteria treatment. |
The central focus of this project was the Testing Facility. Whirlpool's criteria included creating testing labs that were dynamic in nature and could be setup for testing North American, South American, and European products. The project included HVAC systems, fuel gases for the labs, and special electrical requirements for the labs. |
