MDA Engineering is a full service mechanical and electrical engineering. Mechanical systems include HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and process support. Electrical systems include power, lighting and low voltage specialty systems. We design sustainable buildings and systems and have multiple LEED certified projects with the United States Green Building Council. We are leaders in the industry in implementing 3-D building information modeling (BIM) technology.
Engineering Consulting Services
MDA Engineering has provided consulting engineering services on a wide variety of projects, from structural and electrical projects, to our state of the art Building Information Modeling (BIM) services. Our elite team of engineering and consulting specialists have completed jobs across the globe, and look forward to helping you with your next engineering project.
We offer a wide range of consulting engineering expertise, and are able to help assist with project management and development no matter what the project description is. We offer clear, practical advice and engineering solutions based on decades of real world experience that can help make your project a success.
MDA’s Consulting Engineering Services combine project management expertise with the ability to speak in technical and operational terms that make sense to engineers, supervisors and clients. By doing so, we can act as translators between the client and the technical and construction experts, to give our clients clearer insight and better direction on how best to move forward.

LEED
The concept of “Green” building design has existed in various forms since the OPEC oil embargo of the 1970’s. The latest impetus for the approach was the establishment in 1998 by the US Green Building Council of LEED - Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. MDA Engineering, Inc. has long been involved in designs which have incorporated one or more of the following system approaches which qualify for credit under the LEED certification system.
A large percent of the LEED point allocation system comes under the work scope of the M/E/P systems design, making it a vital component in any successful project. Even more important is the engineer’s experience in understanding the client’s economic interests and where green systems are appropriate to the clients needs.
MDA Engineering, Inc. has embraced the trend of designing facilities using building information modeling technology (BIM). We recognize the powerful benefits of this tool and have selected Autodesk Revit as our software package. We have designed multiple projects utilizing BIM including:
Angela Center Athletic & Wellness Complex - Notre Dame, IN
Renovation and addition to the Angela facility at St. Mary’s College. This 104,000 sq. ft., $16M project provides new spaces for athletic department staff, golf simulation, strength and cardio, spin and aerobics rooms, running track, locker rooms, multi-court field house and dining area and kitchen.
The Anderson’s Corporate Headquarters - Maumee, OH
The project involved the design of a new 3 story, 140,000 sq. ft. Corporate Headquarters Building.
New Defiance Middle/High School - Defiance, OH
For this project, we were hired by the mechanical and plumbing contractors to provide detailed coordination drawings for a new 250,000 sq. ft. middle school and high school. We served as the lead designer in this effort to coordinate with the general trades, electrical and fire protection contractors and systems.
Dover Air Force Base - Dover, DE
The C-5/C-17 Aircraft Maintenance Training Facility project consists of a 6500 sq. ft. building addition with two high bay portions to contain C-5 and C-17 aircraft engines for maintenance training purposes.
Lakeland Medical - Niles, Michigan
Lakeland Medical Office Building is a three story, 42,000sf facility designed for Lakeland Health Care. The building is home to Hyperbaric, Oncology, Audiology, ENT, OBGYN, Bariatric and general outpatient surgery practices
